The arrival of iPhone 14 – expected next month

The launch of Apple’s iPhone 14 is widely expected to happen during the first half of September.

Although Apple tends to keep launch details under wraps, Tuesdays have been the most popular day of the week for previous launches. Predictions are, therefore, that this year’s may happen on the 13th (or even the 6th) of September.

Typically, the handsets will go on sale within a fortnight after the launch.

From what we know so far, there are four models of iPhone 14 anticipated:

  • The iPhone 14
  • The iPhone 14 Max
  • The iPhone 14 Pro
  • The iPhone 14 Pro Max

Rumour has it that the standard iPhone 14 and the Pro will have a 6.1 inch display, and the two “Max” models will have a 6.7 inch display (probably with a larger battery, too).

All of the iPhone 14s could see improvements to the Ultra-wide camera, with an upgraded front lens, a wider aperture and updates to the telephoto lens. Auto-focus improvements would improve focus adjustments during video calls.

There’s speculation that the new models will come with a high-end titanium alloy chassis design, and that one of the colour options will be purple.
