Although the next Apple mobile release isn’t expected until September, information is already circulating about what we can expect from the iPhone 15 series.
The iPhone 15 family is expected to feature four models:
- A 6.1-inch iPhone 15 – the most affordable of the four.
- A 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus which will come with a larger battery.
- A 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro with the Pro features and a premium price tag.
- A 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max (or possibly iPhone 15 Ultra – name to be confirmed). This will be the first iPhone ever to have a periscope type telephoto camera.
Whilst full details will be revealed at the official launch, it is anticipated that
- All four models will switch to a USB-C connector, replacing the Lightning port that Apple has been using for nearly a decade.
- The Dynamic Island which was introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro, will come with all four iPhone 15 models.
- When it comes to storage capacity, all four models will have 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB versions, and additionally the two Pro models will have a 1TB option.
- There may be some slight tweaks to the look of the new models (possibly introducing curved borders around the screen to achieve a look similar to the Apple Watch).
- Whilst the base iPhone 15 and the 15 Plus model will allegedly still come with aluminum frames, the Pro versions are expected to feature titanium instead – a much lighter material that Apple is also using on other products like the Apple Watch Ultra.
The launch date for iPhone 15 has not yet officially been confirmed. However, based on previous years, many are expecting that Tuesday 12th of September may be the day that the new devices are revealed, with the market release date being around 10 days later.
