Business owners who are concerned about the carbon footprint of their organisation will be interested to learn of a new initiative for carbon-neutral printers.
Our print partner Kyocera is now able to offer customers the option to carbon-offset new devices such as MFPs (Multi Function Printers) and desktop printers.
For some time now, Kyocera devices have been designed with the environment in mind. Features include low energy consumption, long-lasting consumables and the use of recycled and recyclable plastics.
That sustainability ethos has now been extended so that customers can elect to offset the carbon from manufacturing and shipping when they purchase a new device.
Kyocera can carbon-offset devices, plus the consumables they use over the lifetime of the product, through a simple bolt-on to the device purchase. This covers all elements of production, packaging, transportation, consumables, plus toner and device recycling.
Having calculated how much carbon needs to be offset for each device, Kyocera then invests in international projects which are certified by CDM Gold Standard. This is the most stringent worldwide certification for carbon-offsetting projects and is the only standard which certifies a project’s sustainable development factors, including co-benefit criteria like healthcare, job creation or reforestation.
